Today's computer programs allow anyone to become a movie producer! In this quest you will be introduced to the video editing program Adobe Premiere Elements. You will learn how to use Premiere to apply special effects to video shot in front of a solid colored background, edit the video to a desired length, add additional video and sound effects and published the completed video.
Pre-Production - Gather Your Materials.
For this quest you will create a short video where you place yourself in another location using a greenscreen. Before you film you need to decide where you want to go. Use Google Image Search to find a background picture and save it to your folder. Also plan what you will do in front of the camera. For this quest your video may be no longer than 10 seconds so make sure to keep it short.
Production - Film Your Video
Film yourself in front of the greenscreen in the back of the room. You may ask Mr. Willis or another student for help with the camera. Film the scenes as many times as necessary to make sure you get it right!
Post Production - Make Some Movie Magic!
This phase has the most steps, and every one of them is important so READ THEM ALL!
Mr. Willis will put all of the clips you filmed into a folder within your class folder. Create a new folder on your computer's desktop and copy all of your video clips into that folder. Also copy any pictures you downloaded from the internet and any other media you will need into that folder. Finally, open Adobe Premiere and create a New Project in that folder.
Once you are in Adobe Premiere, import any media clips you plan to use for your video. Next add the clip you plan to use to your timeline. If you are adding any sound effects, move those into the timeline as well. Make sure that you leave the track labeled "Video1" empty so you can put your background picture there later.
Apply the Chroma Key effect to your video clip to erase the green background. Make any needed adjustments to the background and video clip so the two fit together as well as possible.
