It's difficult to write much of anything these days if you don't know your way around a word processor. In this quest we will look at some of the basics of Microsoft Word. Along the way we will also touch on some of the basics of internet research and properly managing your files. Part 1 - Choose a WordPick a word, any word! Yes it is that simple. Do try to choose a longer word that may not necessarily be familiar to everyone. Part 2 - Define the WordGive multiple (more than one) definitions for the word separated by bullet points. At least one of the definitions must be copied directly from a website such as an online dictionary. You must also have at least one definition written in your own words. You must also include the website you used as your source by copying the web address into the footer of your document. Part 3 - Illustrate the WordUse Google Images to find a picture that illustrates the meaning of your word. Insert the picture into your document. Also copy the web address of the image into the footer of your document. Part 4 - Make it Pretty! Before you finish, adjust your fonts and formatting to make this document readable and appealing to look at. Make sure the word you are defining is clearly visible and stands out on the page. Make sure the pictures and definitions line up. Everything must fit onto 1 letter sized piece of paper.
When you are finished, check with Mr. Willis for permission to print. Remember to regularly save your work into your class folder.
